One can argue that the worst bottled water is any water bottle because all water bottles are harmful to the environment. Not to mention the potential for BPA poising and leaching into the plastics.
But unfortunately, we are still drinking water from plastic bottles. No matter how many people encourage us to improve the environment and our health, the population always tends to continue buying their favorite bottled water. But the real question is: why are we so demanding with the brand we take? H2O is H2O right? For most people, the answer is no.
This article will list the worst bottled water that you should always try to avoid.
List of Worst Bottled Water
Store Brand Bottle Water 3/10
One of the worst bottled water can be store brand bottle water. Yes, it is clean, simple and generally the most affordable option. However, they typically do not add any minerals or vitamins like some of the branded bottled water. It is pretty hard to find out how they are filtered and there is always the danger of contaminants.
Propel – Score: 3/10
As for Propel, people have found that it smells slightly salty and metallic. Eww. When it comes to enjoyment, maybe it’s not that bad, but it’s not certainly A+. Putting it on your tongue has a strange effect. Also, the texture and taste is very similar to Gatorade, which is weird.
Iceberg – score: 5/10
Ice Mountain does pretty well if you were looking for nothing but water. It is highly unflavoured water that is completely neutral in almost every way, which is absolutely OK. In this case definitely. it also has a slight “mineral” aftertaste.
Dasani – Score: 5/10
Some people say that Dasani can be a bit stinky. Others say that it does not smell good, a little bit like wine, which is mixed with sulfates. What is it with all of this stinky water? Remember that this is just the opinion of a few people, many people enjoy the taste of Dasani.
Aquafina – Score: 5.4/10
When pH tested, Aquafina comes up acid. This means that although you can drink it, it is not as good as alkaline water. A better option is a water that is neutral or basic. It tastes a bit dusty, with some dissolved minerals and a little salt. Still, Aquafina is a good thirst quencher. It is good as cheap water that you just drink because you are at the airport and want to hydrate before the flight, I think it’s a good option.
Naleczowianka – Score: 5.9/10
Naleczowianka is another bottled water that has a “distinctive” smell. This time a rocky road type of smell. It is slightly salty in but quenches thirst.
Even with all brands bottled water, tap water remains by far the most common water that people drink. If you can drink tap water in your area, be careful because it can sometimes contain contaminants.
Also, it can sometimes be acidic water and be contaminated from old pipes and plumbing.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you drink a lot of water every day. Therefore, no matter what water you choose, you will feel good about what you get in your daily H2O.
